Proper Back Pack Use
“Here’s How Back Packs Can Impair Your Children’s Health”
With the beginning of a new school year just a few weeks away, I would like to share with you some very important information about backpacks and your children’s health.
As a parent, you need to know that carrying a heavy load improperly or unevenly distributed can result in poor posture and distort the spine throwing it out of alignment.
And, a spine that is out of alignment can cause headaches, muscle strain, neck pain, back pain, arm pain and even nerve damage.
You also need to know that more than 50% of young people experience at least one episode of lower back pain by their teenage years and research has indicated that this could be caused to a great extent by the improper use of backpacks.
Now, considering how many years your kids will spend in school and especially considering how much growing your kids will do during these very same years, backpack safety should never be taken lightly.
So, whether your kids are in pre-school, grade school, high school, college or university, they all need to know how to wear a backpack without damaging their spine. And, this is where we can help!
All you need to do is call our office at 905 335 LIFE ( 5433 ) and schedule an appointment for you and your family, and we will show you how to use a backpack safely.
We will also check your children’s posture to make sure there are no other concerns or issues.
