As of Dec 1st, 2014 the way you claim for personal injury on your automobile insurance changes.
This is what you need to know …
If you have been injured in an automobile accident, you are entitled to 3500$ in treatment to rehabilitate your injuries.[flashvideo file=http://lifechiropractic.s3.amazonaws.com/12.09.2014.auto.insurance.for.chiropractic.care.bi-1.m4v image=https://lifechiropracticcentre.ca/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/changes.in_.auto_.insurance.claims.jpg width=500 height=305 /]
As of Dec. 1st of this year, the service provider (your chiropractor for example) must be registered with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) in order to bill your insurance company directly for the cost of the treatments.
If the service provider is not registered with the FSCO, this means that you will have to pay the service provider out of your own pocket for the care that you receive, and then submit the statements and proof of payment receipts to your insurance company in order to have them pay you back.
The way the current Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule is structured, your initial payment to the service provider could be as much as 1800$!
If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident or have suffered personal injury of any kind, you have already been hurt once.
Don’t let this financial stress cause you additional pain and suffering when your only worry should be to get well.
Choose a service provider that is licensed and registered with the FSCO.
