Treating Carpal Tunnel

“Here’s And Effective Treatment For Carpal Tunnel Syndrome”

treating carpal tunnel

If you are suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), you need to read on.

CTS is typically characterized by pain and numbness and tingling in the wrists, hands and fingers.

The main symptom of CTS is numbness of the thumb, index finger, middle finger and half of the ring finger (on the thumb side).

The numbness typically occurs at night and can peak during the early hours of the morning. Extreme tingling and pain can also result which usually spreads upwards into the forearm.

These symptoms can become so intense that they often times awaken sufferers from their sleep.

CTS usually affects your dominant hand but can affect both and it can be intermittent (it comes and goes). People who typically get CTS perform repetitive daily tasks with their hands and fingers: working at a computer, texting on a cell phone, playing video games, cashiers, assembly line workers and individuals who use hand tools, vibrating hand tools especially.

Loss of grip strength is usually the first sign that you are developing CTS; you begin to drop things and you have difficulty twisting a lid off of a jar for example. In advanced cases, the numbness, pain and tingling will appear at any time during the night or day.

Medical treatments involve medication, night splints and even surgery but you need to know that there is another option which is chiropractic care.

CTS results from compression of the median nerve. The median nerve goes from your neck all the way down into your hands and fingers.

The median nerve can become compressed in 2 places.

In the neck itself due to misalignment of the neck vertebrae (subluxation), and in the carpal tunnel itself (which is in the wrist) from misalignment of the tiny wrist bones or both.

The reason why chiropractic can get such great results with CTS sufferers is because our treatments can actually decompress the nerves in the neck and in the wrist, and there are no drugs or surgery involved.
