Aside from chiropractic care there are 2 dietary considerations that are very important for you to understand.
First of all, if you have an ear infection you need to eliminate all forms of sugar form your diet.[flashvideo file=http://lifechiropractic.s3.amazonaws.com/01.27.2015.ear.infections.and.diet.bi-1.m4v image=https://lifechiropracticcentre.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/ear.infections.and_.your_.diet_.jpg width=500 height=305 /]
The reason why is sugar can impair the function of your immune system and sugar also feeds the germs that you are trying to get rid of.
This means no fruit, no fruit juice and no candy of any kind.
The worst thing you can do when your child is cranky with a fever, a runny nose and plugged ears is to give them candy or a lollipop to suck on.
Secondly, you also need to eliminate all creamy foods and thick fluids from their diet.
This means no milk, no chocolate milk, no cheese, no creamed cheese, no ice cream and no yogurt.
These types of food will only keep the sinuses, nose and ears goopy which will prolong colds and ear infections.
Replace with fresh cut vegetables, good old-fashioned homemade chicken noodle soup and clear fluids such as water or decaffeinated organic tea until the ears have cleared.
If you find you are pounding down the antibiotics due to recurring ear infections, you need to get checked for subluxation at C1 and C2.
And you need to check up on the diet to make sure you are not inadvertently feeding the infection.
